Housing Options Plan

This is NOT your application for social housing

Before you can apply for housing you are required to complete a housing options plan. This is to help you consider all the housing options available to you.

There are approximately 14,000 households on the fife housing register waiting list at any one time.  Due to the high demand and limited availability of social housing stock, we will not be able to house every applicant.  We encourage all our applicants to explore alternative housing options by completing the housing options plan.

As part of the housing options plan, you will be asked a series of questions about your current circumstances.

It will take between 15-20 minutes to complete, and at the end you will be provided with a list of available options, including advice on how to improve your current housing situation. You can print this out.

It will be useful for you to have the following information available:

• amount of salary
• amount of benefits received
• amount of savings

Instructions on how to make an application for housing will be available AFTER you complete the Housing Options Plan (HOP).
