Armed Forces
The Fife Housing Register Partnership is committed to supporting veterans and to help them secure settled accommodation after being discharged from the Armed Forces.
Our properties are allocated using a points system and if you are being discharged from the Armed Forces or can no longer stay in forces accommodation you are entitled to 75 points.
You are entitled to keep these points until you have been:
- Allocated a property
- Secured your own settled accommodation
- Removed/withdrawn from the housing list.
This includes anyone who has been discharged for a number of years but who has not secured settled accommodation.
Settled accommodation is:
- A secure tenancy held solely or jointly in the forces applicants name – ie, a Local Authority/Council tenancy or Housing Association tenancy
- A privately owned home, including shared ownership
- A Private Residential Tenancy
You will be asked to provide proof that you have been discharged from the armed forces when you apply for housing.

Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR)
Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR) has released a powerful new mini-documentary that gives insight into the impact of its work on supporting homeless ex-servicemen and ex-servicewomen.
The 11-minute video was produced by Edinburgh-based film-maker Rob Waugh, of digital content company Simmerdim, and has been launched to raise awareness of the services offered by SVR across their three sites: at Whitefoord House in the Capital, Bellrock Close in Glasgow, and Rosendael in Dundee.
Founded in Edinburgh in 1910, SVR provides accommodation and help to Veterans who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in need, and their work includes tailored 1-to-1 support, counselling, occupational therapy, an activities programme, and a range of initiatives and partnerships to help them work towards a independent living and successful transition to civilian life.
If you are a Veteran who needs help, or know of someone who does, please contact Scottish Veterans Residences at info@svronline.org or visit www.svronline.org.
